Smoke Alarm + Hoptimist
Jacob Jensen’s optical smoke alarm is designed to provide safety while adding a touch of elegance to your home with its innovative design. A constantly pulsing light beam detects smoke. If the light beam is interrupted by smoke particles, the alarm will sound. It has an integrated battery with a lifespan of 10 years.
The design language of Jacob Jensen’s smoke alarms is soft yet distinctive. The five different colors give you the choice to harmonize or confidently highlight your home style.
Installation of the Smoke Alarm: The smoke alarm should be placed on the ceiling, as high as possible and at least half a meter away from walls, doors, and windows. This prevents smoke from escaping unnoticed. The smoke alarm should not be placed too close to bathrooms, kitchens, or wood stoves, as steam, frying fumes, and smoke can cause false alarms.
In the basement, the smoke alarm should be installed in the stairwell.
The smoke alarm can also be mounted on the wall if ceiling installation is not possible, for example, due to textile ceilings or ceilings with insufficient stability. When wall-mounted, there should be a distance of 30-50 cm from the ceiling.
Operation and Maintenance: We recommend that you test your smoke alarm regularly to ensure it is functioning properly. Test at least once a year and preferably more often. Also test it when you return home from a prolonged vacation.
Never paint over your smoke alarm, and replace it every ten years. It should be disposed of at a recycling center as battery waste.
